Macklowe and CIM Plan to Build the Tallest Building in New York City
New York real estate developer and investor Harry B. Macklowe and Los Angeles-based CIM plan to build the tallest luxury building in New York City.
Located at the former Drake Hotel site, 432 Park Ave, the building will become one of the tallest buildings in the United States, as well as the tallest building in New York City to the roof, surpassing both the new and old World Trade Center buildings, and second tallest in total height behind One World Trade Center, according to media sources.
With a height of 1,380 feet (420.5 m), containing a hotel and 128 rental apartments, the building is set for a 2012 start date and expected completion in 2016.
According to sources, the luxury condo and retail complex was designed by Rafael Vinoly, one of the best architects in New York.
With an estimated cost of US$1 billion, the building’s amenities will include 12 ft (3.7 m) high ceilings, golf training facilities, and private dining and screening rooms.
