Apple (AAPL) is set to introduce “Apple Intelligence,” an opt-in AI service, at WWDC next week. This service (which will be integrated into iOS 18, iPadOS 15, and macOS 15) will require newer Apple devices with specific hardware capabilities. The update includes AI-driven enhancements across various applications such as Apple Maps, Apple Music, and the Notes app, offering features like auto-generated playlists, AI-generated news summaries, and a revamped Calculator app. Additionally, it promises significant updates to CarPlay and system apps, improving accessibility and automating tasks. As I have been saying for months, we’re really not going to know anything about the future of consumer AI until WWDC and the release of iOS 18.
